Are Religion and Spirituality two different things ?

      Have you ever thought about this question that religion and Spirituality are bound to each other or not? May be you pondered on this dimension or may be you never payed head toward this question. But here we will start discussion on this topic;

     Spirituality is the conscious or subconscious belief that there is something which is beyond matter. This can also be called as metaphysics. A Spiritualist believe that in this universe, which is hitherto unknown to us at most, is inter related and this universe, beyond the matter and physical appearance, has some other dimensions. Man should focus on these dimensions and align itself to the universal principles/will. So mysticism is the most evident component of Spiritualism.

       Religion , based on my observation and studies, I am forced to say that each and every religious man is a Spiritualist but it is not necessary that every Spiritualist is a religious, though most are. So what's religion? I observe, and this observation is based upon the indepth study of 300+ hundred religions, although I never claim this observation to be infallible, that religion is the Spiritualism which is not only concerned with the metaphysical dimension but also tries to connect these metaphysical dimensions directly with physical/material body of mankind. This makes religions more social than individualistic in their looks, and religions are somehow institutionalized due to this character. Far more religions try to transcend the eosteric/Divine principles/will of this metaphysical supposed existence into materialized actions. That's why religions have strong moral codes.

     Anyhow, at last I must mention that this discussion will continue for some more articles on this website.
